VISION OPTICALS OPEN INTER RESORT VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT 2009

On Wednesday the 1^st of July 2009, the Volleyball Team of Bandos Island Resort & Spa was up against One & Only Reethi Rah Resort in the Finals of the Vision Opticals Open International Resort Volleyball Tournament. There were a total of 6 resorts participating in this tournament. Bandos played a total of three matches in the lead up to the finals. Two of the matches they won easily, but during the semi-finals they lost the first two sets, only to come back stronger than ever and dominate during final three sets- resulting in a much savoured victory.

Wednesday’s match was much anticipated and the energy in the air was palpable. Led by Mohammed Fatheen, the Bandos Volleyball Team started of with a bang and won the first set. Much of the game was pretty close with Reethi Rah close behind Bandos the whole way and the match lasted an hour and fifteen minutes. The second set in particular was a bit tough, but other than that Bandos was in control the whole way. Bandos won all three sets as Abdullah Muaz, the Team Manager, said, “Comfortably”!

At the end of the match out of the 6 Best Player’s, 4 were from the Bandos Team- namely, Mohammed Fatheen (Team Captain), Ismail Sajid, Ahmed Ali and Hussain Saeed. Congratulations to the Bandos Volleyball Team!
