I have just received a call from our tour operator to say that the sundowners bar will be shut for the month of July. Is this correct?

Hello again Nikki, Yes, the sun deck at sundowner's bar is closed for renovation. But we still serve beverages and snacks at the bar.

We are coming to Bandos on the 7th August, can you please advise if the work on the sundowners bar will be complete by this time?

We are coming to Bandos on 7th August too !
I think i read somewhere that the renovation will be finished by the time we get there..

Yeah, it looks really beautiful right now! Its not yet fully finished. We were scheduled to finish by the end of the month but it looks like we are ahead of things as it looks like everything will be done by the 20th of July! :)
